The College Fitness Center is for usage by Kaskaskia College students, faculty, and staff for wellness, educational, and physical fitness programs. Physical fitness programs, to include health and dietary curricula, are important educational components in support of disciplines across the curriculum.  Individuals who seek health and physical fitness knowledge are afforded the opportunity to experience and learn through the College Fitness Center programs and facility in order to promote a healthy workforce and higher quality of life for all users.

  • Students wishing to participate in the Fitness Center are encouraged to do so and comprehensive offerings will be made available.  For those students who choose to participate on a semester-long basis, participation will require enrollment in one of the available Physical Education courses, with payment of the course tuition, a course usage charge for each semester, and the mandatory student charges.  The tuition amount may be included in some scholarship programs; however, the mandatory student charge and the semester course usage charge must be paid by all students.
  • Senior citizens are also encouraged to participate in programs through the Fitness Center.  For those senior citizens who choose to participate on a semester-long basis, they will also be required to enroll in a credit course with the tuition waived; however, they will be required to pay the semester course usage charge and the mandatory student charge.
  • Faculty and staff are additionally encouraged to participate in programs through the Fitness Center.  For those faculty and staff who choose to participate on a semester-long basis, they will also be required to enroll in a credit course with the tuition waived; however, they will be required to pay the semester course usage charge and the mandatory student charge.

Students, senior citizens, faculty and staff and members of the general public who do not choose to participate on a semester-long basis are permitted to participate in the Fitness Center on a daily basis. Daily participants, their guests, and members of the general public will be charged a daily rate that will be set by the College administration.  Such rate may change periodically.

Community Education classes may be organized from time to time as group participation sessions at the Fitness Center.  The Community Education charges will be determined on a course by course basis and shall include a usage charge as determined for such activity.

The College shall provide for accessible and reasonable enrollment at the Fitness Center.  Such enrollment will be accomplished through established procedures, such procedures being designed for the convenience of the users where possible.  Specific rules and operation guidelines for users shall be established and distributed to Fitness Center users.  Such rules and guidelines shall also be posted appropriately in the Center.
