KC is committed to delivering personalized academic advising to all degree- and certificate-seeking students. Advising is provided by trained academic advisors who provide proactive, student-centered support to help students articulate goals, select programs, map academic pathways, and monitor progress toward graduation. For new degree-seeking students and returning students who have not enrolled for 12 months or more, meeting with an academic advisor is required prior to registration to ensure a clear, goal-driven plan for program completion. Continuing students are also required to participate in scheduled advising check-ins each semester, conducted in person, remotely, or through approved formats, to review academic progress, including grades, milestone completion, update Academic Maps as needed, and receive early intervention support through the college’s early-alert processes and referral to appropriate resources when necessary.
