I. Purpose
The Board of Trustees of Kaskaskia College strongly supports the identification and procurement of grants to supplement federal, state, and local funding of the College and to enhance existing and establish innovative programs and initiatives.
II. Scope
This policy applies to all departments, divisions, and operations of Kaskaskia College engaged in identifying, developing, and procuring grants from federal, state, local, and private funding sources.
III. Standard Implementation
To promote the identification and procurement of grants, the College has established a Grants Department within the Business Office under Administrative Services. The Grants Department comprises two positions: a Development and Grant Coordinator and a Grant and Contract Accountant.
Role of the Grants Department
The Grants Department is responsible for monitoring grant opportunities and assisting the College's departments and divisions in preparing and submitting grant applications to secure funding from federal, state, local, and private sources. Kaskaskia College will actively pursue appropriate and beneficial grant opportunities in accordance with established procedures.
IV. Related Procedures
The Grants Procedure outlines the detailed steps regarding grant development, grant implementation, and grant maintenance for Kaskaskia College, as well as responsibilities for the Development and Grant Coordinator, Grant and Contract Accountant, and other members of the College as deemed appropriate.
V. Compliance and Monitoring
The Grants Department will monitor all grant activities to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as institutional policies and procedures. Regular reporting to leadership will be maintained to track grant procurement and utilization.
